Woodland Attractions

Starlight Ridge Woodland Retreat“Ever evolving native, natural flower gardens are showcased at Starlight Ridge Woodland Retreat. As a master gardener, my passion is to assist Mother Nature and Mother Earth in creating beauty and supporting a natural safe habitat for woodland creatures. An orchard with fruit producing trees, bushes and shrubs is being designed and implemented on the grounds. As my thumbs become a darker shade of ‘green,’ the vegetable garden is receiving a ‘makeover’ with expanded area and design. The hoop greenhouse constructed last fall is busily becoming a seed starting operation and continues to evolve and flourish.”–Katherine, Owner

Jetson+in+LabrynithThe intention of walking a labyrinth is to find yourself.” Labyrinth patterns have been around since ancient times They can be found made of various materials in many shapes and sizes in public spaces, guesthouse grounds, church grounds, private gardens, nature reserves, churches, on wine farms , etc. all over the world. A labyrinth is an archetype with which we can have a direct experience. We can walk it. It is a metaphor for life’s journey. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and takes us out of our ego to “That Which is Within.” It is time to take a deep breath, recharge and tune into yourself. Walking the circuit of a labyrinth is calming, focusing exercise that helps a person tune into themselves and the earth’s energy. The Starlight Ridge labyrinth is made of native stone in a circular/eight pointed star configuration meandering around trees and woodland terrain.
